Chicago Cityscape provides team members some useful features for sharing information amongst members: sharing Lists and Personal Places. Cityscape members can be part of the same team when they have multiple memberships, one membership per team member. Currently, only Cityscape administrators can add team members to a Cityscape Team (if we haven't already created a Cityscape Team for you, please contact us).
This Knowledge Base article will describe:
Every team member can see who else is on their team, so they know with whom Lists and Personal Places will be shared.
Go to your My Account & Profile and look under the heading titled "Team Members".
Lists are useful to keep track of different content on Chicago Cityscape. Most content types can be added to a list: Building permits, Chicago zoning changes and other ordinances, Proposed Projects, building violations, and Company Profiles.
When a member creates a List, they must select a privacy setting. "Private to self" is the default option, but the member can also set the List to be viewable and editable by team members. When the "Team members only" privacy setting is selected (see screenshot below), the list will appear in each team member's My Lists page. Any team member can add and modify items to the list. The list creator can remove items.
Personal Places are Place Snapshots drawn by Cityscape members for personal and team use. Members can also request that a Cityscape administrator draw or import a Personal Place that's already drawn outside of the website.
Similar to Lists, when a member creates a Personal Place, they can change the privacy setting. "Private to self" is the default option. Members can change the privacy settings in My Personal Places and set the Personal Place to "Team members only" (see the screenshot below).
Place Snapshots, including the Personal Place type, offer email notifications. Team members must individually "fave" the Place Snapshot to being receiving these, as this is a personalized setting.
Paying members and people using a free trial can share a link to any Address Snapshot and Place Snapshot with anyone they choose. Every link is unique and expires in 7 days from the moment it's generated.
Read about how to use ShareLinks in a separate Knowledge Base article.
